Leadership

Boise Choruses are governed by a volunteer board of directors, which is guided by its salaried artistic leadership and dues-paying active membership. Our members don’t just learn music, sing and perform; they also take an active role in supporting and leading all our activities, including rehearsals, performances both formal and informal, production and fundraising. Thank you!

Lindsay grew up singing at Meridian Gospel Tabernacle, where her father was choir director. She continued her musical activities throughout high school, pursuing chorus, marching band, drum major, musical theater and all-state choirs, leading to her performing arts degree in voice at the College of Idaho. There she took on solo roles, including Susanna (The Marriage of Figaro) and Dido (Dido and Aeneas). She then joined the Seattle Opera Chorus as a resident chorus member.

Returning to the Treasure Valley, she received her certification in music education and took teaching positions at Lakevue Elementary School in Nampa (K-5) and Centennial High School in Boise, where she grew the choir from 45 to 213 voices in just five years. She also teaches music theater at XPressions Dance Academy in Nampa and is cofounder of Inicio, a semi-professional chorus in Caldwell and Nampa.

Lindsay helped found Boise Women’s Chorus in 2015. She also adjudicates 6-12th grade choir festivals throughout the Treasure Valley and music directed “Anastasia” with the Huckleberry Star Theater in 2024. After taking time off to raise her daughter, she returned to BWC as artistic director in August 2022. She also manages Sacred Valley Alpacas, her luxury alpaca gear business, and shares duties with her husband raising meat birds, goats, chickens, rabbits and cows on their Caldwell family farm.

Becca Taylor, Collaborative Pianist

Becca first studied piano with a teacher who also taught clarinet and saxophone, and she started accompanying some of those instrumentalists in her early teenage years. She joined Boise Women’s Chorus in August 2021, followed by Boise Gay Men’s Chorus in January 2022. She is also the pianist at Whitney United Methodist Church as well as at several private voice studios and school choirs in the Treasure Valley. Becca has been the collaborative pianist for the Idaho American Choral Directors Association, where she has accompanied award-winning composers and conductors, including Francisco Núñez (New York) and internationally renowned María Guinand (Venezuela).

Becca teaches private piano lessons and frequently adjudicates piano competitions and festivals throughout Idaho. She has won several awards, including placements at the Sonatina and National Federation of Music Clubs Festivals, the Danny Marona Performing Arts Award and the Joyce A. Chaffer Trust Award. She started her formal music studies at the College of Southern Idaho, where, as a freshman, she was recognized as Music Student of the Year. She graduated summa cum laude with her bachelor’s degree in piano performance from Boise State University,

When Becca isn’t playing the piano, you can find her at home kicking the soccer ball with her two sons, biking with her husband or digging dirt in her garden.
